All About the Digital Switchover
Television in the UK is going Digital. This digital revolution promises to bring both the residential and commercial user more choices and a vast amount of new services. The switchover starts in 2008 and will role out, region by region; the process will be completed in 2012.
Once completed, any Television screen that is not converted to receive a digital signal will remain blank.
The Digital switchover is the biggest change to UK broadcasting since the introduction of colour Television, back in 1967. The scale and speed of the switchover is staggering with over 40 million sets still to be adapted before the 2012 deadline.
